How distributors are taking advantage of Attain's warehouse platform

Buying, stock, picking, trucks and the end-of-day count, connected in one system. Each tab is one step, and together they run the whole warehouse.

What we heard from C&G

In your own words

From our calls on October 28, October 29 and November 4.

Purchasing
The purchasing is becoming a nightmare for us. There's no doubt about it.
C&G, Oct 29 call
The whole operation
We're not disorganized, we're just overwhelmed. We need the systems to be in place.
C&G, Oct 29 call
Stock
Every morning we're scrambling when we're low on inventory. Who gets what?
C&G, Nov 4 call
Loading
Every morning when we're loading the trucks... take six because we need to save some for the other trucks.
C&G, Oct 28 call
Lost sales
There's 20 cases there that were sold but never fulfilled, and we have no idea.
C&G, Oct 29 call
Inventory
The way I got to track the inventory now is crazy. It's on a spreadsheet.
C&G, Nov 4 call
Counting
We're taking inventories every day for certain products... it's getting to be a process now with 453 items.
C&G, Oct 28 call
Brim's
That system for tracking that is a nightmare.
C&G, Oct 28 call
Warehouse
We memorize where everything is.
C&G, Oct 28 call
Shrink
That could be either stolen or mistake. Like where is that track?
C&G, Oct 29 call
Routes
One route is really weak, and another route has too many orders.
C&G, Nov 4 call
Routes
I'll put a pin for every store and then just route it manually.
C&G, Oct 29 call
Stock
We have a lot of problems where we're low on product, but now we got orders coming in.
C&G, Oct 29 call
Loading
Loading the trucks was easy a year ago.
C&G, Oct 28 call
Purchasing
We're doing manual POs. Before we do the purchase order, we're running out getting the inventory.
C&G, Oct 29 call
Expiry
We get messed up sometimes with the warehouse employees not rotating properly.
C&G, Oct 28 call
Payables
We need a payable system. We got to know where the company is exactly.
C&G, Oct 29 call
Time
We don't have the time to get organized.
C&G, Oct 28 call

Built around C&G

Set up the way C&G actually runs

Divisions

Brim's as its own division

Product you send to Brim's moves out of C&G's stock and into the Brim's division, and what Brim's sells comes out of it. You see what should be left there, without a manual count and a spreadsheet at the end of the week.

Two warehouses

Every location, one screen

Both C&G warehouses, every aisle and zone, and every case in each one, side by side. Transfers between them are tracked on both ends.

Your routes

Pick by route, like today

Pull the whole load for a route in one shot, build your four trucks in Dispatch, and put drivers on the tablet with your notes on every stop.

The full cycle, tab by tab

Four steps that run in a loop

Read the tabs left to right: buy it, store it, ship it, then check the numbers. Backorders and low stock feed the next purchase, and the cycle starts again.

01Inbound

Stock comes in

Buy faster and closer to what you sell. This matters more with every product and warehouse you add.

  • Plan PurchasesDitch the spreadsheet formulas. Suggested quantities come from your own sales, and turn into a purchase order for each vendor in a few clicks.
  • ReceivingCheck each delivery against its purchase order, so short or wrong shipments get caught at the dock.
  • Put AwayEvery case goes to a named spot on the shelf, so it can be found again.
  • VendorsWho you buy from, what they carry and what they charge, side by side.
  • BillsWhat you owe each vendor and when it is due, without a separate payables sheet.
02Inventory

Know what you have

See every item and its exact quantity in every location, in every warehouse, from one screen. The bigger you get, the more this matters.

  • LocationsEvery aisle, shelf, zone and staging area named, so nobody has to memorize where things live.
  • Inventory StatusEvery item and its quantity, in every location, in every warehouse, with how much is already promised to orders.
  • TransferMove stock between locations or warehouses, like your runs to Brim's, with both sides tracked.
  • Inventory LogEvery move, with who did it and when.
03Outbound

Orders go out

Get trucks out faster, with the right items on them and your fill rate in view.

  • PickingPickers see exactly where each item is. Track who picked each order and your fill rate, and catch shorts before the truck leaves.
  • Check OrdersA second count before it ships, so mistakes get caught in the warehouse, not at the store.
  • DispatchDitch the daily Google Sheets and Maps combo. Build routes and trucks in minutes, set the stop order and load the truck. Drivers see every stop in order, with your notes, right in the app.
04Reconciliation

Check the numbers

Count faster, trust your numbers and see the sales you missed.

  • Cycle CountsCount one section at a time instead of the whole warehouse, and fix what is off.
  • Route ReturnsWhat comes back on the truck goes back on the shelf, so the count stays right.
  • BackordersEvery case you could not fill, so you see the sales you missed and buy them next.
Then back to step 1. Backorders and low stock feed Plan Purchases.

Set up once:name your Locations the way your warehouse is laid out, and add your Vendors. Everything else builds on those two.

See it on the driver's phone

The driver app, connected to Dispatch

A walkthrough on a demo route. Stops arrive in the order Dispatch set, with your notes, and every delivery updates what is left on the truck.

  • Stops in order, with your notesEach stop shows the delivery window and the notes from the office.
  • NavigateOne tap opens Apple Maps to the store.
  • DeliverThe driver sees what was ordered next to what is in the truck, adjusts any short and confirms. The invoice updates.
  • Truck QOHBy Item and Summary track what started on the truck, what was delivered and what is left.

See it in the warehouse

The warehouse app, on every picker's phone

A walkthrough on a demo warehouse: receiving, putting away, picking, counting and checking stock, all from one app.

  • Receive against the POEvery expected item and quantity is listed, and anything extra can be added on the spot.
  • Put Away to a binScan or pick the location and bin, with the lot and expiration date carried along.
  • Pick from recommended locationsPickers see which bin and lot to pull from, with expiration dates and photos of the order.
  • Count and check stockCycle counts by warehouse and location, and Inventory Status down to the bin and lot.

More sales from what you buy

Turn cut cases into sales

Today, stores order without knowing what you have. Orders come in overnight for product you are short on, and every morning someone decides who gets cut while the trucks are loading. Stores get less than they ordered, and some sales are lost without anyone knowing. With Attain, your stock levels flow into the store app, so stores order what you can actually deliver, and more of every order turns into revenue.

Store app, example
Doritos Nacho Cheese 1 oz50 ct case
In stock
Takis Fuego 4 oz12 ct case
Low stock
Cheetos Flamin' Hot 2 oz64 ct case
Arriving tomorrow
Keep the sale instead of cutting itWhen an item is running low, stores are steered toward something you have in stock, so the case still gets sold instead of cut at 5 a.m.
Sell what arrives tomorrow, todayAn item that is out of stock but arriving tomorrow can still be ordered, instead of being dropped from the order or bought from someone else. Coming soon
Happier stores that keep orderingStores get what they ordered more often, instead of finding out at the door that cases were cut, so they keep coming back to C&G first.
